Dura-Lar is a superior product to acetate as it is safe for lay over artwork, will remain crystal clear, consistent with color, and stays flat. It is particularly good for framing and presentation. Most common use is to place it between art and the top mat to protect art without having to wrap the entire mat. Pads and rolls are available in .003", .005", .007" and .010" gauge. The gauge or thickness of plastic film is expressed in thousands of an inch, said as “mils”. For example, .005″ is said “5 mils”. Will not bead, chip or run. Great for planning painting compositions, as a painting surface and printmaking.
