Genuine Gold & Precious Metal Leaf - Copper leaf comes in 5.5" × 5.5" squares and is inexpensive relative to other precious metal leaf. Silver leaf is made of pure silver with no alloys. Sliver Leaf Measures 3.75" × 3.75". All Gold and Palladium leaf measure 3-3/8" × 3-3/8". 23kt and 22kt are Ducate Double Gold which is heavier than standard leaf by 10 to 20%. 22kt is characterized by an Orange Hue. 22kt is the most common used for guilding in the USA. Pure Palladium is a silver colored metal that is resistant to corrosives and therefore best for exterior guilding. Moon Gold is 21Kt and contains a mixture of gold, palladium and silver. French Pale gold is a 22kt gold with a pale but definitive hue. 12kt White Gold has been gaining great popularity since it won’t tarnish and offers a totally different hue than Palladium. Sold in either 25 leaf books or packs containing 20 books (500 leaves). Loose Sheet Leaf - is standard leaf assembled in book with thin pieces of rouged paper between each sheet. This allows you to remove one sheet of leaf with a guilder’s tip brush without disturbing the sheets below. Patent (Transfer Leaf) - This type of leaf is characterized by a thin tissue backing applied to the gold side down. This keeps the leaf from being disturbed by wind and therefore is most commonly used by artisans working outdoors. Variegated Leaf - is metal leaf which has been heat treated to create beautiful random colorful patterns. Each leaf is 5.5" × 5.5" square.
