If you're an artist searching for a tool to elevate the accuracy of your compositions, the Proportional Divider is the tool… Accurately Reduce Or Enlarge Proportions The Creative Mark Proportional Divider is perfect for artists who frequently paint or draw from a reference that requires size reduction or enlargement. The tool features adjustable legs that allow you to set the desired scale for your project easily. Its precise points ensure that your measurements will be accurate and consistent. If you're an artist searching for a tool to elevate the accuracy of your compositions, the Proportional Divider is the tool for you! Key Features: * Aluminum proportional divider - 7-3/4" long * Solid steel points * Graduated measurements for lines and circles * Includes a carrying case with secure closure * Easy to transport and store Perfect For: * Accurately capturing proportions and perspective * Enlarging or reducing the size of a reference by hand * Drafting, sketching, and drawing * Portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes * Artists, designers, and architects How To Use A Proportional Divider: First, choose the scale of your drawing. This means deciding how much smaller or larger you want your drawing to be. You can do this by loosening the dial and sliding the legs up or down to shrink or enlarge the scale. Once you have the scale set, you can measure any object. If you're trying to enlarge a tree in a reference photo, position the tool so that the smaller end of the X is touching the top and bottom of the tree. Then use the wider opposite end of the divider to mark the tree's proportions on your paper. To reduce the size of a large subject, reverse the process. Use the wide end of the tool to measure your object and the smaller end to make your marks on the paper. Once you have the tick marks in place, connect the dots with a freehand line. You can also hold the proportional divider in front of you at arm's length while looking at something you're drawing from life. You'll get relatively accurate proportions as long as the length of your arm is consistent and doesn't change much as you draw. See More

Acurit Proportioner ToolSave Up to30%Off listVideos…mathematics behind proportions in order to use this ingenious tool: simply set the initial scale and let the Proportioner do the rest! Consisting of 2 indicators, one for the reference object and one for the transferred image, the Proportioner can be easily set to any proportion ratio by rotating… Resize images quickly and accurately — no math involved! For centuries artists have been developing ways to correctly enlarge, reduce, and transfer images without destroying the proportions between them. From complicated camera-like apparatuses to simpler grids and caliper-like instruments, getting accurate measurements and proportions has always been a true artistic concern. The Acurit Proportioner is designed to do just that: use it to correctly transfer proportions between an object and your drawing, without ever having to pick up a calculator! The Proportioner does all the math for you with just a turn of the knob! PERFECT FOR DRAWING REFERENCE PHOTOS OR REAL LIFE IMAGES PRECISELY TO SCALE The Acurit Proportioner can be used to ensure facial features in a portrait are in correct relation to one another; to judge the heights of buildings as opposed to the trees next to them; to enlarge technical drawings or reduce illustrations — anything in which the scale of the original reference must be preserved. You don't need to understand the mathematics behind proportions in order to use this ingenious tool: simply set the initial scale and let the Proportioner do the rest! Consisting of 2 indicators, one for the reference object and one for the transferred image, the Proportioner can be easily set to any proportion ratio by rotating the knob (without depressing) until the reference indicators line up with two fixed points — say, the eyes in a portrait image. Then depress and rotate the knob again to set the distance between the transfer indicators — how far apart you’d like the eyes to be in your drawing. The Proportioner will store this set proportion ratio for you, allowing you to easily transfer further points — nose, mouth, and so on in our portrait example — while retaining the exact scale! Sturdier than a pantograph, more accurate than a grid, the Proportioner is also the perfect tool for the plein air artist! Unlike bulky opaque projectors that require electricity and darkness to operate correctly, the Acurit Proportioner can be taken out of the studio and into the field for any artwork drawn from life! So stop the guesswork, freehand drawing, and using clunky equipment: ensure all your artwork proportions are exactly to scale with the new Acurit Proportioner! * See Video Tab for more details * Quickly resize images without sacrificing correct proportions * Keep transferred images precisely to scale * No math required — the Proportioner does it all! * Easily set initial scale by rotating knob to set indicators * Proportion ratio is stored so further points can be transferred * Great for working in the field! * Perfect for drawing from reference photos and real life alike! * Indispensable tool for any artist, designer, illustrator or draftsman!
