Rich Pigment-based black ink
Yasutomo Traditional Chinese Inks are excellent for all types of ink work. The rich black pigmented ink is resoluble in water and perfect for painting, drawing, and calligraphy. You can create delicate washes of grey by diluting the ink with water or watercolor. If you want to add a touch of glamour to your caligraphy you can outline it with Yasutomo's black metallic inks. A convenient flip-top cap allows you to pour the ink from the top or the side of the bottle. Once dry, the ink is resistant to reactivation, so you can wet mount your work without worrying about the ink smearing. All Yasutomo Traditional Chinese Inks are lightfast and conform to ASTM D-4236.

CY18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Black: Black (CY18) is a dense black ink. You can create unique grey tones by thinning the ink with water. This ink produces a slightly cooler tone than Japanese ink.
CM18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Ultra Black: Ultra Black (CM18) is a very dense black, water-resistant ink that contains almost double the pigment of Black (CY18) ink. You can create unique tones by thinning with water.
Traditional Chinese Ink, Golden Black, and Silver Black: Yasutomo Metallic Chinese Inks are rich black inks that contain metallic powders. You can create beautiful outlines around your black calligraphy with Yasutomo's metallic inks. The effect works best on rice papers. Both of the metallic inks are made by suspending gold and silver powders in dense black Chinese ink.
