Magnani 1404 Annigoni Drawing Paper 117lb - 27.6" x 39.4" (Pack of 20)

For over 70 years, Annigoni Drawing Paper has been made to the specifications of the famous portrait painter Pietro Annigoni. Annigoni is best known for his famous oil paintings of Queen Elizabeth II and John F Kennedy. Still, in his spare time, he worked closely with the Magnani mill to develop this unique paper for his preparatory sketches.

Annigoni Drawing Paper is made by evenly distributing a mixture of beige-colored cotton and dark cellulosic fibers on a slowly rotating wire cylinder before it is pressed onto special Magnani marking felts and dried. The soft yet rough paper texture is ideal for using charcoal, graphite, pastel, and light ink washes. During his life, Pietro sometimes primed the paper with rabbit skin glue so that he could use oil paints on the surface.
