Liquitex offers a variety of varnishes that have been specifically designed to achieve optimal clarity.

Varnishes are applied over dry paint films and have several purposes. The first and most important function is to protect the painting surface from dust and environmental pollution. Secondly, varnishes can be used to change or unify a painting's surface sheen.

Liquitex offers a variety of varnishes that have been specifically designed to achieve optimal clarity.

Varnishes are applied over dry paint films and have several purposes. The first and most important function is to protect the painting surface from dust and environmental pollution. Secondly, varnishes can be used to change or unify a painting's surface sheen. Liquitex varnishes come in several different sheens, which can all be intermixed for a customized sheen. Our varnishes are permanent and can be applied to both flexible and rigid supports.

Gloss Varnish - This water-resistant varnish delivers permanent, highly durable protection that is flexible and no-yellowing when dry. A 100% acrylic polymer varnish that is water soluble and can be thinned.

High Gloss Varnish - This permanent water-based varnish produces a high gloss finish that is clear, sandable, and non-tacky. It increases depth and color intensity; AP non-toxic.

Matte Varnish - Enhances color while adding a non-glare, low-sheen finish.

Satin Varnish - Apply over dry paint to protect the surface and add a satin finish. A non-yellowing varnish medium with excellent leveling properties. Translucent when wet, dries clear.
