This Free Art Lesson is taken straight from Sean Dye’s DVD County Landscapes. After sketching out the landscape in India ink, Sean uses gouache to apply an under layer before finishing off with pastels. This portion of the DVD is a lesson in colors; when applying the under layer you want to think ahead about the colors that will go on top of this so they don’t cancel each other out.
