Basswood offers a stronger and smoother surface than common Birch craft panels. The Ampersand Unprimed Basswood panel is manufactured with strong 4mm premium basswood, ready to seal and prime with the ground of your choice. Unlike other unfinished wood panels on the market, the Unprimed Basswood surface is sanded perfectly smooth and does not have plywood seams, knots, or problematic raised fibers. The support frames are made with solid pine that can be finished with paint or stain. Unprimed Basswood is great for encaustic, mixed media, collage, and pyrography.

Primed Smooth 7/8" Cradle Value Packs
The Primed Smooth cradled panels have a smooth semi-absorbent, acid-free ground that allows for amazing detail work and is great for oil, acrylic, mixed media, paint pouring, graphite, collage, mounting, alcohol ink, heavy impasto, and much more! These panels are coated with an acrylic gesso primer and fully supported with solid pine wood cradle support frames. This panel is completely primed on the surface and the sides of the cradle-great if you want to wrap your images over the edge without the extra prep work.

The Canvas Texture cradled panels have a medium textured, less absorbent acid-free ground that is perfect for oil and acrylic painting. The ready-to-use panel gives artists all the advantages of painting on a panel but with the familiar feel of fine linen or canvas. The Canvas Texture Artist Panel is perfect for plein air painting, palette knife work, heavy paint applications, and glazing techniques.
