This unique 24" x 36" sand surface is a hand-applied kaolin clay ground textured with fine marble dust granules. Amersand Pastelbord holds more pastel layers than any other surface! It is a clay and gesso coated hardboard panel with a granular marble dust finish comparable to a sanded pastel paper except more durable and more versatile. The coating is pH neutral and non-yellowing, making it a truly permanent museum quality surface. Perfect for soft or oil pastels and pastel pencils. Pastels go on smooth, blend beautifully, and colors stay rich and vibrant. Exceptional for both wet and dry pastel painting. Also, achieve amazing results with acrylics, oils, watercolors, gouache, charcoal and more.
